On the 10-11th of November the 6th Conference «The Controversies of Modern Cardiology: Disputable and Unresolved Questions» was held. The conference organizers were Russian Society of Cardiology, Samara Region Ministry of Health, Samara State Medical University and Samara Regional Clinical Cardiological Center.

The conference was attended by over 1300 professionals from different cities of Russia. The conference program included 45 scientific symposiums with the participation of experts from different cities of Russia and several foreign countries. On the original research and interesting clinical cases submission several workshops for young cardiologists were organized. This year a poster session for medical students in the field of cardiology and related disciplines with the participation of students from medical universities of Samara, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk, Yakutsk, Moscow and Orenburg was arranged for the second time. A separate program was held for nurses.

 Three joint scientific sessions organized by European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), The International Society for Holter and Noninvasive Electrocardiology (ISHNE), and the Working Groups of Arrhythmias and Syncopy of the Russian Society of Cardiology with the participation of the professors Chudzik Michal (Lodz, Poland), Laszlo Geller (Hungary), Wranicz Jerzy K (Lodz, Poland), Cygankiewicz Iwona (Lodz, Poland) and Kurpesa Małgorzata (Lodz, Poland) were an interesting and relevant direction for all practicing physicians. Also the symposiums with related fields of gerontology, hemostasiology, anesthesiology and intensive care, nephrology and gastroenterology were presented.

The second day of the conference was opened with the interactive competition for young specialists «Smart & Clever», which included a quiz on the European guidelines of 2017, analysis of electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, difficult clinical cases solutions, historical issues.

The 7th Conference «The Controversies of Modern Cardiology: Disputable and Unresolved Questions» will take place on the 19-20th of October 2018 in Samara.
