During the
last 4 months a lot has happened in ISHNE. The Board of Trustees met
inChicago and
had a day long meeting to discuss strategies, our official Journal,
and the future of ISHNE. This was an important stage for our
strategy planning. The new perspectives of ISHNE were defined as
follows:
Education (basically web-based learning and
certification) and developing guidelines (and publishing in
the ANE) and promotion of research in noninvasive electrocardiology.
There were several educational sessions worldwide,
including:
-World Congress of Cardiology, BA, May 2008. A
joint HRS-ISHNE meeting was conducted within the framework of the
world congress, with quite a good audience. A stand of our own was
also arranged to promote the educational activities of the society,
as well as the next biannual congress of ISHNE that will be held in
Yokohama,
Japan. Our marketers had
typical Japanese and Argentine suits, which were well received by
the audience.
- 2nd International Workshop in
Noninvasive Electrocardiology in Timisoara, Romania, June
4-6 2008.
Chair Victor Moga
- Cardiostim, Nice, June 2008, where a
3-day symposium was held, with round tables and presentation of oral
brief communications and posters. The symposium was chaired by
Drs. Zareba W, Dubner S, Moss AJ, Hombach V.
The Sessions
were: Update on inherited arrhythmia disorders, Inherited arrhythmia
syndromes, Resynchronization therapy, Atrial Fibrillation, Syncope,
Autonomic control and its monitoring, Timing of noninvasive
testing
We have also filmed
several presentations and round tables that will be presented in due
time in the virtual campus of our official page. And soon we
will hold meetings at:
The 19th Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology,
(GW-ICC)

Educational
Symposium on Non Invasive Electrocardiology, Belgrade, Serbia, November 1st. Chair : Branislav
Milovanovic
International
Forum of Arrhythmias - 4th Congress on Update in Cardiology and
Cardiac Sugery ANtalya,
Turkey,on Nov

And we will
sponsor the congresses of the 13th International Symposium on
Progress in Clinical Pacing, Rome, chaired by M. Santini; and
Cardiorhythm 2009, Hong
Kong,
chaired by CP Lau.
Another important event will be, as
mentioned, the 13th Biannual Congress of ISHNE, that will take place
in
Yokohama ,
Japan
, on
June 4th-6th, 2009 . The congress has been planned to attract
cardiologists not just from
Japan
, but also from
countries from
Southeastern Asia ,
and it will have more than 50 international guests. Dr. Tanabe,
President of the congress, is working as hard as possible so that
this congress is of a high scientific and audience level. To obtain
any data about it, you may visit our official page at www.ishne.org or directly the link of
the congress at http://www.ishne09.umin.jp
Sudden Cardiac Death: Epidemiology, Mechanism, and
Underlying Disease, Practice Guidelines for Prevention of Sudden
Death, Update on Risk Stratification Methods, Various Diagnostic
Examinations in Risk Stratification of Sudden Cardiac Death are just
a few of the topics that will be approached in our congress. The
full program can be obtained in our web page.
After the
great success of the prior Virtual Symposium on Heart Failure and
recent Virtual Symposium on Myocardial Ischemia, we are very happy
to have carried out the Second Virtual Congress on HF. It was
chaired by Dr. Moss on this occasion too, and the response of the
audience was very important, with more than 17,000 registered
members and more than 60,000 lectures downloaded. As usual, the
congress was held in English, with simultaneous translation into
Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese, so that a very
significant number of colleagues may read it in their mother
language, which the way we see it, is more friendly and easier. We
are planning for the
future, to also translate it into other
languages as French and Japanese.
We cordially expect you to
share our activities, both live and virtual, and a greater
participation in the Annals, our official journal.
Sincerely,
